Tell it like it is

We designed and developed this animated sweepstakes redemption website for SafeWay and their house brand Go2Cola. This site featured games, a sweepstakes entry & redemption system, and interactive video. The videos were provided to us, and the development of the pack the trunk game, and backend code verification systems were handled by third parties, but for the most part we designed, illustrated and developed this site from scratch.

A few notes: We doubled the security & validation of the backend system by validating and checking entry data within flash before passing the data off to the PHP backend sweepstakes system. We also used two way encryption to pass the data to the PHP system for security purposes. We illustrated the entire site, using photography, real objects and stock photography as a basis (the van was based off of my Mazda MPV, and the arm that starts the ignition was based on a photo of our office manager Bonnie Newton.) We sourced the audio used throughout the site, including the radio stations. We also designed and illustrated the game pieces for the Pack the Trunk game. My favorite animation throughout the site is the spray used on the “Shake the Can” game. We had to animate a can erupting everywhere in a giant title wave. This took quite a bit of time and experimentation to get just right.
